De tegenstander tijdens deze 11e wedstrijd van het seizoen waren de mannen van Bedum Blues M14. Als Exercitia de wedstrijd zou winnen, dan waren de jongens kampioen. Het publiek was in groten getale toegestroomd om de jongens aan te moedigen. Er heerste een goede gezonde spanning en na een korte warming-up startte de wedstrijd om stipt kwart over 10.<\/p>\n<p>Exercitia begon de wedstrijd met een paar goede treffers zodat de stand al snel in hun voordeel stond. Aan het eind van het eerste kwart was de voorsprong opgelopen naar 18-4. In de tweede kwart kwamen de mannen van Bedum Blues beter in hun spel en wisten de achterstand terug te brengen naar 27-22. Er ontstond enige paniek en slordigheid bij Exercitia. Coach Andre de Boer wist de jongens echter weer terug te brengen in het spel. In het derde kwart kwam Exercitia weer goed terug en bij een ruime voorsprong van 35-22 leek de winst al bijna binnen. Maar de mannen van Bedum hadden nog een sprintje in petto en wisten de stand aan het einde van het derde kwart terug te brengen naar 35-31.<\/p>\n<p>Het startsignaal van het vierde kwart was de aankondiging van bloedstollende laatste 10 minuten. Het publiek leefde vanaf de tribune mee, luid gejuich en aanmoedigingen schalden door de Marsch. Topscoorder Bob de Bruin maakte de eerste treffer in de 4e kwart, maar daarna nam Bedum het spel over en 3 minuten voor het eindsignaal stonden de mannen van Bedum voor bij een stand van 39-41. Ondanks de spanning en frustratie en dankzij de voortreffelijke coaching van Andre de Boer wist Exercitia terug te komen en via treffers van Bart-Jan van Zinderen, Darius ten Berge en Bob de Bruin de winst alsnog naar zich toe te trekken. Na een zinderende laatste 3 minuten blies scheids Haze het eindsignaal bij een stand van 48-45. De jongens die de afgelopen jaren door coach Rob de Bruin tot een geolied en hecht team zijn gevormd, hebben dit jaar samen met coach Andre en hulpcoaches Mark en Poppo het werk voltooid.
